COVID-19: we’ve high demand for oxygen amongst patients – Lagos government

There may be an increase in the call for for oxygen by COVID-19 sufferers, in step with the Lagos country Commissioner for fitness, Prof. Akin Abayomi.

Abayomi stated this throughout a Zoom webinar with the aid of the Lagos Civil Society in opposition to COVID-19 on Friday.

“We noticed that there may be a mild boom in the call for for oxygen.

“So, we are seeking to make oxygen available throughout the nearby authorities areas so patients can get oxygen treatment to be stabilised.

“once they’re strong, they are able to now be moved into isolation centres and get greater medical treatment and with a bit of luck, we will rescue them from moving into a greater vital level wherein we may also now want to do not forget ventilating,” Abayomi stated.

The Commissioner similarly defined there are “approximately five ranges of oxygen therapy before we get to the air flow stage”.

Lagos currently has the highest variety of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria with 10,910 patients.
